Victorian Alliance House Tour in San Francisco Tomorrow 10/21/12 from 1pm to 5pm

Check out the Victorian Alliance's Annual House tour.

It's tomorrow,  Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Tickets will be available on site where the tour begins at 401 Baker Street, San Francisco, CA 94117 which is also the home of the Brahma Kumaris Meditation Center. There will also be a gift shop and light refreshments at 543 Baker Street, San Francisco, CA 94117 which is the Native Daughters of The Golden West building, designed by Julia Morgan.

The Victorian Alliance is San Francisco's oldest all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization for architectural preservation and education. All funds raised from these events go to endow restoration projects throughout San Francisco. Past projects have included repair of the Castro Theatre box office kiosk as well as stained glass windows in various houses of worship.

This year's tour takes place in the NoPA neighborhood adjacent to the Divisadero Street corridor, north of Golden Gate Park's Panhandle. This will provide a relaxed afternoon for you and yours as this neighborhood doesn't have so many of the fierce hills to walk up that San Francisco is so well known for. Still, you should wear comfortable shoes because almost all of the houses will have stairs to climb.

The featured homes have a significant amount of Queen Anne style details (curves, bays, turrets and whimsical decoration) so they will not fail to thrill the visual senses. So, take a walk back in time next Sunday, for a good cause, and enjoy our city's architectural heritage.
